I want to start by saying the first employee my mom approached was incredibly sweet and helpful. She had short hair, earrings, and lots of pins on her vest. Even when my mom had my dad on the phone trying to explain what part we needed for the house (since, like many of us, we don’t always know the exact number or technical name of a part), she was patient, kind, and willing to help. She eventually had to step away to assist two other customers who were already waiting, which my mom completely understood. Before leaving, she kindly called another associate, Albert, from the plumbing section, to assist.
Unfortunately, this is where things went downhill. Albert asked my mom what she needed, but as she tried to explain, he kept walking quickly ahead of her without listening and even made sarcastic comments like, “Like I have all day.” My mom’s first language is not English, but that should never take away from the kindness or patience an employee should show. If Albert didn’t want to help, he could have called someone else instead of being rude.
When my mom, already feeling overwhelmed, said she would call my dad (who speaks perfect English) to explain the part, Albert refused and said he didn’t want to talk to my dad—that my mom had to tell him herself. At that point, my mom felt defeated, found the part on her own, and went to the cashier. The cashier immediately noticed her tears and treated her with compassion, which we deeply appreciated.
She later spoke to Michael, the manager, who was very kind, understanding, and assured us that action would be taken. The kindness shown by the first employee, the cashier, and the manager reminds us how important it is to treat each other with respect. Sadly, Albert did not represent that today. While we usually shop at this Lowe’s as it’s our home store, after this experience, I’m not sure if we will continue.

As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s.
