@Lowe’s Countertop Project – A Complete Disaster
This was the worst home improvement experience I’ve ever had. After ordering a countertop through Lowe’s, no one contacted us for measurements until I chased the manufacturer myself—only to be told to call MKD directly. Two weeks later, at the measurement appointment, we were blindsided by undisclosed requirements: remove backsplash and ensure perfectly level cabinets. MKD said Lowe’s should handle leveling; Lowe’s said MKD should. Neither took responsibility. Their “solution”? Hire our own contractor or cancel.
We canceled, and then came the refund nightmare: Lowe’s kept $260 for a measurement fee, citing fine print never explained to us. Escalating to a supervisor changed nothing. The lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer service was shocking. Neither Lowe’s nor MKD offered any resolution or compromise.
Bottom line: Lowe’s and MKD failed at every step—poor communication, zero ownership, and no solutions. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
