- CHCassandra HartleyNov 12, 20253.0My keys fell out of my bag while I was getting out of my car, so I realized I had locked them in my car right away and needed them to get into my office. I chose this place because it appeared close by (I later realized it’s because of their key kiosks in various places. I’m still not clear where the actual business is). The person who picked up just took the address and my first name and then said “a tech will call you at this number” and hung up. 30ish minutes later a tech called to say they were on their way and I should’ve asked then for the price, but at that point I didn’t have time to get someone else. When the tech showed up, I learned it was $275 just for the call out despite being non emergency and regular hours. That was high enough, but then he looked at my car and made a big deal about how “high security” it is (it’s an ancient literally falling apart minivan) and how he might have to pick the lock. So it was another $75 for the job on top of that. He then proceeded to use a regular air jack and hook to open it in less than 30 seconds. I’ve never locked my keys in before, but I’ve been around people who have and it was the exact same tools and cost them $150 max. $354 for this job seems outrageous. I’m giving them 3 instead of 1 star because they got it done in a little over an hour, which is fairly fast. And it was on me for not pushing for the price upfront. But I hope others feel better prepared for what they’re going to get.
