Sahar JacksonDec 8, 20231.0DTE Energy is what happens when there is no competition in the area to help "drive" companies to be trustworthy, reputable, reliable, and ethical companies with decent customer service. If you're in the Detroit Metro Area, you're going to experience outages, poor customer service, and in my case, suspicious billing practices. I was recently inquiring about a random spike in a bill that had my account number on it but the wrong address. I physically received the bill in the mail months later after already paying it online and contacting DTE back then to ask about the spike. They never contacted me but marked my issue as "resolved." After filing another complaint, I received a long-winded email saying the meter was right because my A/C was on during August and September since those months were hot (not true ...it was in the 60s and 70s this year and my a/c was off). Then the agent used the remainder of their essay-type email to advertise more DTE services. My initial question and concerns were never answered. I'll I can say is based on these reviews and the community discussions in A2, there is definitely a need for a competitive market here for energy services.
