While it’s nice to have a pool place a little closer than Cockeysville, this place has been price gouging us locals for years. I won’t be shopping here ever again! If you ever want to see how much they inflate items, just look online. - Steve

Allen installed our diving board and has helped with other pool maintenance issues. The ladies who run the store are knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Kris is amazing and the rest of the family/employees are top notch. Sure wish they were closer but worth the drive as they are expert in chemical testing and coaching for those not super familiar with pools. Had our pool replastered by Pools Unlimited and they highly recommend we go with A and S. It's been a wonderful experience.

I am not sure why some people dislike this place. I have tried a few different pool service companies (mostly for pool closing and chemicals), and this place is the best. They are honest and always happy to help in case you need advice over the phone. They have been serving this community for a long time, so you should assume that they might not be able to take you on as a client right away. They are paying a very close attention to quality of their work, and that is why they cannot just hire new people with no experience with pool care. So, my advice is, be patient, use another company for pool opening/closing if you have to, and they'll be happy to help you out once they have a capacity to do so. Also, having tried a few different brands for chemicals, I am now only using chemicals they sell at their store. Water feels and looks amazing, and it will keep your family and friends AND your equipment happy and healthy for a long time.

We purchased a home with a pool that was always serviced in the past by A and S. We called in May of 2019 to schedule a pool opening and we were told that they were short staffed and not taking anymore new clients. I explained to them that technically we are not a new account, that we just purchased the home and our pool was always serviced by them, but i was told that they would not be able to help us, and to call at the end of the season to schedule a pool closing. We then contacted Universal Pools who was able to schedule a pool opening in a matter of a couple of days (we received A+ service from them). We were still hoping that A and S would be able to take on our account because they knew the history of our pool, so at the end of the season, we called them to schedule a closing and we were told the exact same thing, that they were unable to service us because "they are still down a technician" and to give them a call in February 2020 to schedule the pool opening for the summer of 2020. I called today (02/04/2020) and was told "they are not taking any new clients who did not have their pool opened or closed by them last year (which they were not willing to do),that they are still short staffed and no one wants to work". I called back to speak with the owner to inform him of this issue, and the lady that answered snickered at me, and was told that he is going to tell me the same exact thing. I did speak with the owner by the name of Stephen Mantz who was equally as useless, and told me that all pool companies are having difficulty finding workers. I explained to him that no other pool company that i contacted had any issues with scheduling. i'm really not sure how a business expects to stay up and running when they are turning away new customers, or in our case, a pool that has been services by them for years. Please do yourself a favor and beware before giving this business any of your money. There are so many more knowledgeable, friendly, pool companies out there that are happy to service existing accounts, and take on new customers without any issue, like Universal Pools. Shame on you A and S!
