You might accuse me of leaving a bad review out of spite, and you'd be half right. I have always preferred Home Depot. Generally speaking they have better products, better selection, better store layouts, somewhat better service and more accessible locations. That said it never dawned on me to leave Lowe's a bad review before. The other day I was helping my father with some home improvements and in this particular case Lowes had an item that HD didn't at that moment. So we go to get our supplies and while I'm there we grab two small things I need. Well, one of those things turned out to be wrong. I needed wire for hanging insulation and ended up with wire for hanging ceilings. I don't have the receipt as my father paid for everything. No problem I think, big box stores have easy return policies. I'll get store credit, go get the right thing and be done with it. Well, Lowe's apparently has no such policy. The person at the return counter would not take them back without a receipt even for store credit, which I made clear was all I wanted. I could go into a personal attack on this person as well, but I'll refrain as that isn't necessarily useful to you, the reader of this review. This wasn't some high dollar item. We are talking 15-20$ for both packs, tops. I'm certainly not running a criminal empire of returning low dollar items to Lowe's. I just tried to look it up but their website is terrible too. Bottom line, go to HD, True Value, Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight, or your local hardware store before succumbing to the disappointment that is Lowe's. You certainly won't see me spending money there. Oh, and I worked in the building trades for a decade professionally, and always chose HD as does everyone I know in the trades.
Finally, Lowe's, don't respond with your canned response of you're sorry and call your 800 number blah, blah, blah. I assure you, I won't and everyone knows that is patronizing. If you really wanted to address these concerns you wouldn't put it on the people with the issues to deal with your phone maze.

This Lowes stepped up big time....they have a large selection of clothing, body wash/soap, petfood & pet toys & cases of soda. Its hard to get used too.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
