Lowe’s as a whole sucks and their delivery program for appliances is the worst ever. There should be no reason they can’t stock appliances in store. I’ve been waiting for a week to get something I should have gotten the next day because I paid to have it delivered the next day. No one will call you they expect people to take off an entire day of work because they want to call you 10 min before they get to your house. Someone changed my order to be delivered on a different day no one at Lowe’s can answer any question nor do they even try to answer any question. It shouldn’t be this hard. Don’t buy anything from Lowe’s that need to be delivered. This is the worst Lowe’s is terrible.

DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM HERE! Even if you buy the warranty they dont do anything to help when it breaks in less than a year. Also impossible to contact anyone about the warranty because they will just say its on the manufacturer not them. DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS.

I want to talk about the 2x4.
Not a specific 2x4. All of them. The concept. The promise. You walk into Lowe's, you turn left past the seasonal display, you pass the paint department and the guy who's been mixing the same color for twenty minutes, and then you're there. The lumber aisle. Stretching out before you like a horizon of raw potential and splinters.
Now. I need to address something that every person who has ever bought a 2x4 knows and no one talks about openly.
It is not 2 inches by 4 inches.
It's 1.5 by 3.5. It has always been 1.5 by 3.5. I found this out eleven years ago and I'm still not entirely over it. I built a frame assuming actual 2x4 dimensions and the whole thing was off and I stood in my garage for a long time just holding a measuring tape and reconsidering my understanding of truth. I brought this up to a Lowe's employee once. He nodded with the exhausted patience of a man who has had this conversation four hundred times. He did not apologize. He should not have to.
The lumber itself is fine. Occasionally warped. You have to do the one eye closed down the length of the board thing to check for crowns and bows like you're some kind of pioneer sighting a rifle. Every single person in the lumber aisle is doing this. We are all doing it. Nobody mentions it. It's a shared ritual.
The staff helped me find what I needed. The store was clean. They had what I came for.
10/10 — 1.5 by 3.5 forever. I've made my peace.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped.
