    Their Bowery Dining Server caught our eye while shopping at The Brick. We loved the fact that it is made of real, solid Sheesham wood. No particleboard here. The variegated wood with browns, reds, and greys gives this piece a very unique appearance. And to top it off, one unit was on sale so we decided to buy it. I had my truck with me so asked them to have their staff load it into the box for me. This is where The Brick simply failed! The first young guy arrived with a moving dolly and proceeded to lift the unit up from the end, tilting the bottom corner onto dirty concrete, first denting that corner, and then once upright the entire side of this piece of hardwood fine furniture was laid on the dirty, sand and gravel covered concrete floor. I was aghast at what had just happened to my new piece of furniture. As I was about to say something about this the staff member moved the dolly into place and accidentally slammed the metal dolly bottom into the front edge of this fine piece of furniture. My mind was exploding at this point and I angrily asked him why he hadn’t wrapped the piece first, or at least placed some clean cardboard or a moving blanket on the ground. I instructed him to tilt the table back down onto the legs, at which point he twisted the whole unit slightly, on the dirty concrete, making an awful scraping noise while the fine wood product was abraded by the dirty floor. Once back on its legs, I inspected the side that had been on the floor and found, not unexpectedly, that sand bits had been embedded into the wood, small gravel bits were still adhering to the side, small scrapes were now evident in the wood, and there was now a small dent where the dolly had struck the wood edge. I demanded he stop touching it and bring a manager over. The manager attended, but was mostly unconcerned about what had occurred, and the sales woman (Cristine E) standing nearby commented that “I was probably just going to dent it some more in my truck on the way home anyway” with a disrespectful laugh. The manager offered me a meager $20 off the selling price if I still wanted it. If my wife hadn’t already fallen in love with this piece I would have walked away, but I figured with some careful work in my shop I could probably rehab the damage that had been done. When I asked for a more capable mover to handle the transfer to my truck the Customer Service manager came over, and treated me like I was being unreasonable for being upset about the handling of my new piece of furniture. He even stated, after I told him what had been done, that he would have moved it in the same manner??? I was blown away at the lack of respect shown for both the beautiful piece of furniture they were selling, and me as a customer. In the end, they begrudgingly wrapped the piece with plastic wrap and cardboard protection for me, and then used a flat dolly to move it to my truck. I was able to carefully dig the embedded gravel out of the wood and after some sanding and oiling the damage is hardly noticeable now. I cannot recommend The Brick as a place to purchase any product based on the care they showed toward handling their product, and respect, or lack of it, that they show toward their customers. This was a miserable experience and I doubt I will ever shop at The Brick again.

    I bought a fridge on sale there and when I installed the water line to the fridge for the door and tried to fill a glass of water there was water spraying all over the floor. When I pulled the fridge out to investigate the problem I found that there was a plastic valve broken on the bottom of the fridge which caused the water to spray all over the floor instead of filling the glass. When I contacted the salesperson at the Brick I found out the warranty wasn't worth the paper it was printed on but they were "happy to help me out" as long as I brought the fridge back to the store for them to deal with. They wouldn't even send me the part I needed to fix the issue myself, and getting a replacement fridge even short term while I waited for mine to be repaired wasn't an option. Absolutely horrible customer service and they'll never see a dollar of my money again. You may find a decent price there but if you need any follow up support from them good luck to you.

    This was definitely not a positive shopping experience. My wife and I dropped in there to quickly buy a pillow. There was absolutely nothing quick about. First, we couldn’t find a sales rep to even care about us. Finally a cleaning person found a rep sitting in a corner of the store somewhere obviously not at all. Interested in customer service, then when the pillow is selected and paid for you have to go to a different door around the outside for the next step of the transaction after that you go out to your vehicle and wait for another five or 10 minutes till you can pick up your pillow at door number two . This is absolutely ridiculous I do not recommend shopping at the Brick.
