- RRRemAug 16, 20251.0Last time I came here with my girlfriend, we went to self checkout and she pointed out that a worker approached us to help us with checking out - she thought that this was strange as that’s unusual for self checkout (hence the name) and that the worker approached the only black people in self checkout and no one else. I brushed it off as I come here all the time with no issue. Today, I went to self checkout again (the only black person at self checkout) and was not only approached again, but the worker insisted on scanning the items for me, defeating the purpose of self checkout. Workers did not approach any of the other white patrons at self checkout. I don’t want to make accusations, but this pattern is not a good look at all.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s.
