Just purchased a washer and dryer from the Lowes on Alkay Dr. In Shreveport, La. We paid to have them delivered and installed at our home. The problem wasn't the washer and dryer but how they were installed. The water lines (new) were of good quality but the problem was because the lines were steel braid wrapped and were not uncoiled the lines were a 6' coiled mess behind the washer. The drain line was not installed down far enough into the drain pipe so the installer ziptied the drain line to the waterline. The dryer was next. The installer connected the drier vent using a good quality 4" flexible duct pipe. The problem was the flex pipe was 6' to 8' long and the installer refused to cut it to proper length, stating he might "cut" himself. He pushed the dryer to the wall leaving about 12 and 15" between the wall and dryer. The flex pipe had two 90° turns and a 180° turn in the pipe along its lenght.(very bad air flow). After the installers left, I found that the power cable to the dryer was installed improperly with no strain relief connector installed, which WILL lead to a short given time. I went to Lowes to speak with the store manager and spoke with an (assistant manager) she refunded 20% off the installation and was going to send out the installers to fix the situation. I declined the installers to return. I will correct the problems myself. The whole reason for having the washer and dryer delivered and installed is due to age and not knowledge. The instalation was improper and DANGEROUS. The installers either lacked knowledge or were lazy. DO NOT use Lowes installers as they (Lowes) didn't seem to be too concerned with this situation.

These guys really know their policies and are so very clear about them. Pft! That's a joke! If you're going to make a big purchase, make sure with all of their in-store managers on returns.. don't go by what their staff tell you. I know first hand how much concern Big Corporate Lowe's have for their customers. And being a loyal long going customer obviously doesn't matter. If you have bulk lumber packages or bulk composite decking purchases I would prefer you go to your local small business distributor if possible. Have a great day!

There was was literally NO one in the store and I asked for assistance several times and after 30 minutes gave up. I would have left sooner but the other stores did not have what I needed. FINALLY another customer helped me get what I needed. Then asked for help to load and again no one showed. Their excuse was everyone was busy. Yep, standing around talking and taking smoke breaks outside the door. When I got to vehicle 3 workers saw me trying to load 2 large items and they stood there and watched. I will NEVER go back to the store on Mansfield Rd in Shreveport again! The usually good Lowes expiwrence stunk worse than a neglected litter box.
