  We are building a house and were looking for pool quotes. Several high quality builders recommended Howard Pools. I set up an appointment for design/quote a week in advance. My husband and I left work early to drive 30 minutes to Howard Pools only to be told the lady we were supposed to meet with was not there. She had left earlier in the day to go to New Iberia and was on her way back, did we want to wait around for her to return. It was over an hour we would have had to wait for her with nothing to do so we declined and left after leaving our name and number for her to call us. It has been over a week and we still did not receive a phone call from her to apologize or reschedule. This was extremely unprofessional to miss our appointment and not even call to apologize or offer to reschedule. I'm assuming by the other more recent reviews that other people are having the same problems. I've heard the owner has handed off the daily operations and customer service seems to not be important to this company anymore. I can assure you I shared my story with the builders who recommended Howard Pools and they will no longer be recommending them.

  I wanted my 2 pool lights changed and called office to setup service. I informed her that the gate was not locked and service man could come through gat on left side of house since i have 2 gates, it was not locked. All he had to do was open latch on inside. Apparently no one informed service man gate was not locked and he showed up at my house twice ringing the door bell when no one was home. 2nd time left door tag stating gate is locked and he tried calling me twice. And let office know if i still wanted service. He tried calling while he was standing at my front door instead of calling saying he is on his way to my house which i wasnt home at the time and missed his call because i was cutting grass in another town. I tried calling him back but never answered and he didnt return my call twice. The office lady states that she tried calling me but said it went straight to voicemail. If so why not leave me a voicemail. I know my phone didnt ring when she called because i was looking at my phone at the exact time and noticed this number popped up as missed call but phone never ranged. And was not the same office number i called. I then called office back to state i actually opened (ajar) the gate with a crack so all he had to do was push on gate. Office lady says ok i will let him know gate is not locked anymore. Good grief. Gate was never locked and gave specific instructions to begin with so i wouldnt have this problem. Cannot recommend them as communication is lacking and not very professional or customer oriented.
