They just let you find out when you receive your bill as you pay it. They did compromise and restored my previous rate after I paid the increase for the current month and had to submit a request to honor my original agreed rent amount. This is why some people choose to move storage units after 6 months. The cost is raised right after the new account promotion is up and most of the time it's higher then the advertised monthly price.
