They said they have a service fee ($80 in my area) and then an unfixed amount for labor fee ("I'll have to see when I get there" kinda thing). So then I asked "what are typical labor fees for houses in my area"? And he said "$60". They get to your house and judge you and bump that "$60" according to what they think you can afford. So our guy bumped it up to $100. The service technician was professional and timely. Took him 20 minutes to get out to our house. The annoying part was it took him less than a minute to get in! We paid in cash.

I declined, so the guy, who showed up in street clothes and a mini van, said he was charging me $20 for wasting his time and for him to wait around for 20 minutes for an answer, when he was only there 9 minutes total. I refused to pay him, so he got upset and drove away.
