Lowe’s has historically been our go-to store for home improvement supplies, as well as plants and gardening equipment. However, with the recent installation of four Flock cameras in the parking area, my feelings about shopping here have changed significantly. These cameras make me feel as though my movements are being tracked in a way that is unnecessary for a retail environment and deeply invasive of customer privacy. I expect basic security measures at a large store, but license-plate tracking technology goes far beyond that and creates a sense of surveillance rather than safety. I am also deeply concerned about the broader implications of these cameras for our community—particularly for immigrants and others who may already feel vulnerable. Technologies like Flock are often promoted as neutral safety tools, but they can easily be used for data-sharing and monitoring that disproportionately harms marginalized groups. I hope Lowe’s will reconsider the use of this technology and take customer privacy and community trust seriously. Until then, I am much less comfortable choosing Lowe’s over other local options.

Called 5x due to weather to check on an item. Robot ai til it hangs up walk in and there’s 2 employees standing at the customer service desk just talking… I walk up and I’m speaking to the older black female who does not look me in the eye does not look at me does not answer my question and then starts walking away so I look at the older black gentleman standing there and I was like cause she’s seriously gonna walk away and act like I didn’t just ask her a question…. Then she answers… WTH. So you’ve switched to AI robots so that your employees can just stand there and chat and not answer the phones and be rude when somebody walks in just trying to find an item when your website isn’t working and nobody’s answering the phones…. Seems like you’re hiring people that don’t wanna do their jobs…. That wanna sit there and socialize and then rudely ignore a customer and then answer her with attitude when she turns to the next person and says are you seriously not going to acknowledge my presence….

Love my neighborhood Lowe’s but NOT the Leaf Filter salesmen and women crawling the aisles. Idk when it became a thing, but it’s so tacky and annoying for this to be allowed. Feels like you’re in the mall and someone is bugging you to try their curling iron or perfume from a kiosk... Or at a trade show where you expect the Leaf Filter sales staff to bug you. They wear blue Lowe’s vests so my husband asked one of them a question about our tile project/correct supplies we should get for it thinking he was an employee. Then we got weird vague help + he recommended the wrong item because this person doesn’t appear to actually be a Lowe’s employee. The RED vested employees are. We were approached by 3 different salesmen/women that trip. I was again approached today when I went back to get the correct supplies after last night’s fiasco of using the wrong mortar per the salesman’s recommendation. Truly exhausting, please end this in store!
