- BBBoNov 12, 20252.0I currently have a 10×20 the reason I chose this place was for the climate control. I recently sold my home and needed to store the contents. I have a lot of antique furniture the last time I was there I seen mold growing on the surface on the wood, also noticed mold on the boxes. I was told by management i could file a claim the purpose of having a climate control unit to avoid these issues. Not really impressed with this storage company.

My 3-months pre-paid storage unit which was supposed to be ready for me to use days ago has a tag on it, says its ready to rent, very specifically states in all correspondence that it's been ready, but my unit has a lock on it. I've rented from extra space before, I've taken all the proper steps, but has a lock on it. I've tried everything possible to get a hold of someone, left messages, called various numbers, zero help so far. Last night on my way out the gate I had to call the police on a person that snuck in at the last second while the gate closed. Again today, Sunday, Oct 12th, 2025, as we were ready to drive in I spotted another guy that appeared to be trying to sneak in, he definitely started walking towards the gate as he hoped we just just proceed and ignore him, I stood at the gate looking right at him as it closed. Ready to call police again if needed. I would Greatly appreciate it if someone would contact me, unit # 1350. UPDATE 10/25/25: After calling every number I could find, including the number they posted in their response to this review, countless times, I finally got a call back on Sunday 10/12/25. Stephanie claimed that the unit I was confirmed for on Sept. 29th, 2025, and received an email saying my unit was ready to be accessed by me, did in fact have their lock on it due to unsafe, loose wires hanging in the unit, requiring repairs. I was able to confirm I could use a neighboring unit in the mean time. Stephanie said she would call me back the following day, Columbus day. I reminded her it was a holiday and she assured me they would be working and would call me. I was never called back but, but at this point, whatever, she said I could use the other unit for now, and I did assure her the use of the other unit solved the worse part of the problem for the time being. On October 22 I got an email saying the original, slightly larger unit, which I was confirmed and told was ready to move into on Sept. 29th, was now ready. To let them know which unit I want. I would like to keep the larger unit I rented almost a month ago, and feel it would be fair that Extra Space make up for my additional expenses. Will update the review again soon.
