They have a pattern of not showing up during the date range they say they will, then not completing the agreed-upon work, and then not coming back to finish it. it's happened 3 times now for fall and spring clean-ups as well as cutting back some larger bushes we scheduled with to do. Most recently, they broke two of our larger sewer access caps with their heavy machinery and then when I called to get them to come by and replace them (they are a larger size, and hard to find, and I can't even get the remaining shards out of the access pipe anyway), they refused. I spoke with Maria, who seems to be their front-line phone person, and she said it wouldn't make sense for them to come out to replace the caps because they would "lose money on the job." I guess it doesn't matter that we've spent around $5K with them over the last 3 years on a few larger projects. She also claimed that it's just not the culture of small businesses to go back and fix their mistakes. As someone who grew up working in my parents' small business, I was appalled by that statement. I gave them a chance to make it right; Maria said she would pass my request on to the owner. But it's now been 3 weeks and I haven't gotten a call back. In the end, they're not worth the trouble and we're going with someone else who can stand by their service and their mistakes.
