  Rented a unit at the end of October, phone rep was helpful and made the process quicker than online. Since I started my rental in the main gates have never been locked in the many times ive been here over the week. The site manager stated they would be fixed soon and since then they have yet to be closed. Not feeling very secure.

  Honestly use to love this place and still like the staff for the most part but the price gouging is real ever since they changed from metro storage to extra space storage. After 2-3 months of changing over i get a letter in the mail that one of my storage units is going up $50 (based on the the competitors prices is their explanation of why) then 2 months after that I received another letter in the mail that my second unit is going up $50 too (based on competitors prices again, same size units) so I went from about $250 a month to now $356 a month, which is insane. I did my research and found i absolutely can go somewhere else and pay less than this, so that was bs about the competitors prices it was just an excuse and a scapegoat on why they are being greedy and price gouging. Yes in a perfect world I would move and get the heck out of here and go to another storage facility but I don't have help or time or the extra money to move two storage units full of stuff plus the truck rental i would need to do so, so im stuck here till I get a big enough home to fit all my stuff unfortunately. It doesn't even end there, since the change to extra space storage they have also increased the late fee from $19 to $35.20 (yes .20 cents added for fun apparently) as well as no more 10 day grace period ONLY 5 and don't let them fool you when they say 6 day grace period because they process payment at the top of the day midnight so you don't get a whole 6th day because of that its 5 days at midnight the 5th day NOT the 6th so that's false and misleading. I haven't let it get to the point of the next fee if you go beyond the 5 days but they have mentioned it to me and its double what it use to be as well, everywhere the company could dip their hands to make more money they absolutely did. This is wrong and they need to fix it all, and have more reasonable prices and go back to what we use to pay because they literally did it in a way that you really didn't have a choice and only 30 days to get out if you didn't like the changes. news flash everyone doesn't have that luxury to just move 2 full units, im a single mother (no man in the house), my parents are in their 70's, and im a only child (no siblings to help) it isn't possible until I completely move out because im going to have to hire help and im not going to do that twice, ONLY when the day comes I dont need my units anymore entirely. It will cost time and money and should only have to be done once not evwn a thought because a company wants to gouge and take advantage of people in this economy because prices are going up for everything so they wanted to follow suit. New tenants coming in that's a whole different story they got much more room to just say no and go elsewhere but existing tenants should have been grand-fathered in to our original prices and excluded from this monopoly move that companies just think is ok and can do whatever they want, and they can because no one says anything or stands up against them, this is exactly why im saying something because someone has to, this just isn't right. Also not to mention that my units are OUTSIDE not even inside being $180 EACH, I could only imagine what those prices look like!! Im also in the older part too not even in the new part, still paying almost $400 for 2 units (amost half of regular rent!) I know im not alone and I hope more tenants complain and stand up too! 0 stars if I could, not even 1!! The employees being nice doesn't even matter when your talking about this kind of monopoly and capitalism, unfortunately!
