We have had a terrible experience with the cabinet department at the Rockford, IL Lowe’s. The cabinet specialist, Karen, has ordered the wrong cabinets multiple times, causing over four months of delays in completing our kitchen.
Our cabinet installer has already had to come out twice, only to find the cabinets were ordered incorrectly again and couldn’t complete the job. Because of these repeated mistakes, our countertop installation has been delayed as well, leaving our kitchen essentially unusable for months.
Communication has also been extremely frustrating. Karen is very difficult to get a hold of, and we’ve had to go into the store multiple times just to speak with her or a supervisor because calls and messages were not returned.
What’s most disappointing is the lack of accountability. Despite the errors being entirely on their end, we were offered no refund, no expedited shipping, and barely an apology. The only thing mentioned was waiving a restocking fee, which shouldn’t even apply since the mistakes were not ours.
At this point we are still waiting for the correct cabinets and a real resolution. Based on our experience, I would not recommend the cabinet department at this Lowe’s location if you expect accurate ordering, communication, or timely service.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order.
