  John and his team were awesome. During an initial consultation to build a fire pit in my backyard, John was very thorough and considered all aspects of the yard (my garden, kids area, etc.) to make it cohesive. The work was done quickly and efficiently and I can now enjoy my patio and fire pit with friends and family! The expertise brought my vision to life. Definitely would recommend!

  My experience working with JGS was very satisfying. I told him my goals and he was able to create above and beyond my expectations. Workmanship is of the the utmost and job was done on said time frame. We are enjoying our space more than we ever imagined. Thank you JGS. Highly recommend.

  JGS came out to redo the full landscaping in at our house in the city of Chicago. It's one of the long "Chicago" lots so he came to a blank canvas of just some grass in the front and back yard. John initially consulted with my wife and I to understand our requirements and vision and then came up with his plans for how to realize that vision. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first as some of the things he was proposing took awhile to sink in and for me to understand how it all fit together. Ultimately it would be a fence around part of our lot with a big gateway opening and then landscaping to fit the area, give some additional privacy, add lots of color, be low maintenance, and remove the "concrete" city feel. Once our fence was installed John and his team came out a few days later to get going on the project started. They moved sod, installed new trees and bushes (lots of flowering bushes), added mulch and rocks, moved some of our current shrubs, and ultimately it was better than I had even imagined. The project took two days and we're very happy with it and he continually checks back in to ensure things are still looking good and we're still happy. I'm going to have him come out again this fall to plant some additional items that didn't make sense to plant in the summer so I'm excited to see even more of his work and vision executed. I'll definitely be calling him again after that too.

  Extremely disappointed. We were patient with constant delays, but the end product is not good and I cannot get John to rectify the situation. We have four dead bushes, which were planted dead, but I was told they were "in shock" and would come back this season. Not the case, not even a bud. My Lilac was planted 1/2 bare. He replaced it last fall with another Lilac which is worse. A couple grasses didn't make it. The perennials are in good shape, however, the "design" seems lacking in front as it is comprised largely of several dozen of the same kind of perennials. The deck design is very nice, but we already had an issue with a sagging bench that was not supported properly and the finish work is very rough to non-existent. He will not return calls or emails at this point, so I have chalked it up to an expensive lesson and will have to replace 5 dead bushes and some grasses myself, as well as dig up some perennials so the front is more defined, finish deck work, and oh yeah, my lights are not installed in the ground properly - they are about 3-4 inches too high above ground and he never fixed as promised. The firm is all about getting in and out....rush rush rush. No desire to provide a quality product or service. But the check cashed quickly.
