  I have been a customer at Leslie’s Pools for over 15 years. Each season, I bring in my water for testing and purchase all of the recommended chemicals—typically spending over $500 per year. This summer, my pool was losing both water and chlorine despite following the recommended treatment plan. In June, I purchased all of the suggested chemicals, but the problem continued. After driving to the Chicago store, I was advised to use stabilizer, which finally resolved the chlorine issue. However, when I returned to request a refund or exchange for the hardness product—which my pool technician confirmed is unnecessary and has been repeatedly pushed on me—I was declined by Debbie. Even after explaining my situation and the waste of money, I was kept waiting for over 30 minutes with no resolution. I am extremely disappointed. After years of loyalty, I feel misled and poorly treated. I will not be returning as a customer, but I wanted to make others aware of my experience.

  The worst retail experience ever!! We've have a pool for 2 seasons now and with some research during this time I'm no expert but have knowledge to maintain my pool. I went in looking for a skimmer to replace my broken one and seen the Leslie's in palatine had one I was interested in. To me this is a specialty store and should be way more knowledgeable than myself. I walked into 4 people at the register and not a single person greeted us which isn't the biggest problem however it's always positive to be welcomed into an establishment. We looked for the item we saw online with no luck and at no point did anyone ask if we needed help or offer to assist us in anyway. We finally decided to ask and when we did one of the younger employees just pointed to what I assume was a manager without even knowing what we were going to ask. A young woman then attempted to help by asking what is we were looking for. All she did was point in a general direction and said if it's not there we don't have. No attempt to even look herself. I asked if she could look in the system and she claimed that not one of them knew how to use the system to search inventory and once again pointed to the "manager" which was busy with another customer. They all proceeded to be on their phones while we just waited to be helped. Long story short this store is a joke. Employees should at the very minimum be trained in customer sevice!! As a specially store that only sells pool items all the employees should know bare minimum of the product being sold not to mention how to use store equipment and systems to help customers. First and last time there. NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!

  I called and spoke to Mick and when I asked if they carried 6ft pool noodles his reply was, "Are you calling me because our Algonquin store is closed?" I thought, we are in a pandemic and he should be happy for any business he can get. I was looking to purchase at least 90 noodles for a school to keep 6 feet apart. They lost on that order, I'm calling someone else. Mick didn't seem interested in my business. This is why stores are closing, poor customer service.
