My husband and I participated in the Golden Nutcracker activity and he found a nutcracker and brought it to the register. We didn’t know we needed an ID and so the lady at the register said we could use mine. My sister and I returned to participate again and this time I finally found two of them because I heard that they would let you take the one with a higher value and return the other. Immediately the woman at the register, named Melissa, was cold and rude to my sister. Dismissing me and my sister. Once it was my turn, I gave her my ID and she said I couldn’t participate. I told her this was my first time winning and the situation previously. I asked her if we could use my husband’s ID this time since he used mine last time and she said we could call leadership. The entire time she was smug and rude. Leadership came and immediately said she wouldn’t honor it and wouldn’t let me get a word in. I have never been spoken to like that and I am a loyal customer here. My sister heard them talking badly about me while she shopped with her credit and they rolled their eyes and were just so mean the entire time. Once we retuned to checkout my sister’s stuff, the older woman at the register was the only sweet interaction the entire time we were there. Had they at least tried to be understanding and apologetic for their mistake in being inconsistent with the policies of the game, I would have understood. But to instead be treated with so much rudeness and disrespect completely caught me off guard. If you are a woman of color, the white women here will make you feel terrible. It absolutely ruined my day.
