ILLEGAL PRACTICES. -My valid payment was lost and denied for over a couple weeks resulting in me taking a day off work to demand the onsite manager finally look into it - of course they found the payment after I paid all fees and was locked out for a month. -I was charged late fees and locked out of my units even though I had paid. -My units were prematurely placed into lien and auction status (before 30 days past due). -Staff misrepresented Illinois law regarding liens and lock procedures. -Move-in was delayed by about two hours due to staff misconduct. -Staff physically harassed my movers and directed racial slurs at them. -The online account portal is inaccurate and incomplete. -I received multiple (6x) harassing and threatening phone calls every day. -Overall, the negligence caused financial loss, stress, and emotional distress. This place is scary. They have so many five star reviews because as you sign up for your unit, they request that you do the review right then in there. On my move-in day, I had the manager of the shop delayed me by two hours with the cost of my movers. He used racial slurs and yelled at my movers that spoke little English. He was very racist and cost me an extra $200 on move-in. Now they’re under new management and this new management acts like gangsters. It’s the scariest business interaction I’ve ever had in my life. I’m moving my stuff out as soon as possible so I don’t have these gangsters calling anymore. Do not rent with this extra space storage. They have caused me so much stress through my hard times. They are not your partner in the community. Again, I cannot stress it enough. This business interaction is scary. Do not rent here Edit to update a response - I will not be contacting the store directly. I am scared of these new people.

We’ve now reached the point where we’re closing out our reservation, and Hamza made the entire cancellation process incredibly easy. He was friendly, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend Extra Storage Space for both their service and their people.
