- QMQuinn MonfortonDec 1, 20251.0First of all - ESS is the absolute worst storage management company operating today, with a business model that absolutely gouges costumers financially and penalizes customers for staying longer than 3 months (observe the other reviews relating the same issues), while providing the absolutely minimum of service. If you want an example of this - just wait until they respond to this review with the most non answer imaginable. The motorized entrance gate is frequently inoperable or requires exiting the vehicle to manually move - extremely dangerous and the mechanical upkeep of the access control items is not managed well. Manager is frequently missing during posted office hours. Rear parking area is covered in goose excrement. Cockroaches observed in facility. Moths observed in facility. Dock leveler does not lower far enough for a uhaul 16 or 24’ box truck or full sized pickup - only a commercial box truck is tall enough to utilize. Actual physical space of the unit I currently rent is 6” smaller in width than advertised - resulting in ~5 less square feet of floor space than the contract states. Rear entrance often proped open - security concern 70% (yes, seriously) rate increase after first 3 months. $134 to $226 I had been a customer of this property before it was bought out by extra space storage. This is the worst management iteration so far. Moving out and never returning after the abysmal service rendered. Feel absolutely taken advantage of - can’t say enough bad things about how ESS operates - and how their greed and bad management has dimmed a formerly great property. Luckily there are competitors *literally* next door who are happy to be more reasonable!
