    Wanted to purchase a lamp shade. At Home is known to carry odds and ends particularly lamp shades. I have purchased many from them over the years. Unfortunately I will not be returning any more. I had a specific lamp shade I found but the item which was on the shelf didn't have size dimensions on it, or the price. The store assistant manager i located mentioned I should go to customer service for help. So I walked over to the front of the store and no one was there the same guy came over and handed me a tape measure. After I measured the item he told me he could not sell the item because it was a return and part of a lamp base. So I have to find the lamp base. I then proceeded to go back to the lamps area and was met by another sales associate. She proceeded to take the lamp shades away from me and told me she could not sell it because the store did not carry it. The sales associate recommended I go online to Amazon to find a comparable item. I went down another aisle and sure enough, saw the same lamp shade ON a lamp base, selling fir $119.99. Most lamp shades by themselves were $19.99. So its an extra $100 to purchase the base. Why didnt any sales associate or manager tell me that the same item is in a different aisle? This is disappointing to say the least. See the photos and you be the judge. I am going to take the sales associates advise and shop on Amazon.

    I love this store. Unfortunately won’t be returning to this location. Actually I will be returning to return the rug I just purchased. The manager or worker told my husband not to open a rug that we were purchasing. He told her we were buying it and wanted to make sure it was the correct size we needed. As they only display 5x7 (here’s a suggestion maybe display all sizes). When I got to check out the manger/worker lady was clearly talking about us. I never have felt like a criminal until today. She had like 4 people at the front door as if we were stealing. The one lady kept asking her where’s the people at. She didn’t say anything cause we were right there. With all your locations closing you would think they would have better customer service. Not making people feel like criminals. Here’s my advice: If a customer is doing something they shouldn’t be doing try approaching them and ask if they need assistance. And explain the no open package rule if any. I have 23 years of retail experience. And I would never make anyone feel like a criminal.
