Jeff is by far the best neighbor anyone could have!! I have been sick for seven months with shingles and the painful aftermath of post herpetic neuralgia. I had been trying to hand shovel some of the snow from our recent storm, but hadn’t been able to do much at a time. My husband can’t help because of having a kidney transplant and other ailments. After going back inside, I later heard a snow blower going and saw Jeff clearing snow from our driveway and walkways!!!! What a wonderful surprise and blessing!! Thank you, Jeff!!!! We need lots more people in the world like you!! Your kindness will not be forgotten!!!!

We just moved from Washington State and found that snow is real here. I am gravity challenged and unable to shovel snow. We had made agreement with 2 different people who never showed up. I actually got the number for Jeff from someone at Menards. It was awesome to actually talk to a human who knows how to run a good business. He priced very fairly and said we were in his system. Sure enough, at 2:00 am, the crew showed up and did a great job on all drive and walkways. I see they also have other yard services that I am interested in. These Guys ROCK!

So thankful for D&J’s! Have appreciated their snow removal service for several years now. Several years ago in the middle of a huge snow storm they very kindly squeezed me into their already full schedule/route. I appreciate them taking the time to help me out every year during Iowa’s unpredictable winters.

We had to have two ash trees removed from our front yard along with some trimming with our backyard trees. Jeff and his crew were thorough and efficient. After removing the tree stumps, they leveled out the area where the trees were. After job clean up was top notch. They left the yard cleaner than when they started. I highly recommend and will definitely be using them again for our tree trimming needs.
Frequently Asked Questions About D&J's Complete Tree Service - Ankeny
How much does tree removal cost?
The cost of tree removal varies based on several factors including the tree's size, location, and overall condition. Smaller trees might cost a few hundred dollars to remove, while larger or more hazardous trees could cost thousands. Other considerations that affect pricing include the tree's proximity to buildings, power lines, and how accessible it is. For an accurate estimate, we recommend scheduling a complimentary on-site assessment.
How long does it take to remove a tree?
The duration of a tree removal project can vary. Most residential tree removals are completed within a few hours. However, larger or more complex jobs, particularly those near structures, may require a full day. The exact timeline depends on factors such as the tree's size, its location, and any safety considerations that need to be addressed.
Can you remove a tree close to my house?
Absolutely. Our skilled tree removal teams are equipped with specialized equipment and employ advanced rigging techniques to safely remove trees situated near homes, fences, garages, and power lines. We always prioritize safety and the protection of your property throughout the removal process.
Do you remove the stump after cutting down the tree?
Tree removal services typically don't include stump grinding unless specifically requested. Many homeowners opt for stump grinding as an additional service to prevent regrowth, eliminate potential tripping hazards, and enhance the overall appearance of their property.
When is the best time to trim trees?
Late autumn and winter are generally considered ideal for tree trimming as most trees are dormant during these seasons. However, it's important to note that hazardous or damaged branches can be removed at any time of year for safety reasons. The optimal timing for trimming can also depend on the specific tree species and your particular objectives.
Will trimming hurt my tree?
When performed correctly by trained professionals, trimming actually benefits a tree's health and longevity. However, excessive pruning or improper cutting techniques can potentially harm the tree. This is why it's crucial to rely on experienced professionals for your tree trimming needs.
Do you offer emergency tree removal?
Many tree service providers, including ours, offer round-the-clock emergency services for trees damaged by storms or that have fallen unexpectedly. A swift response in these situations is crucial to prevent further property damage and ensure the safety of your home and family.
What should I do if a tree falls on my house?
In the event a tree falls on your house, your first priority should be ensuring everyone's safety. Stay clear of the damaged area. Next, contact your insurance provider to report the incident. Then, reach out to a professional tree removal service to safely remove the tree and mitigate any additional damage to your property.
Are you licensed and insured?
Reputable tree service companies maintain comprehensive liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. These protections are essential for safeguarding both homeowners and employees. We recommend always requesting proof of insurance before engaging any contractor for tree-related services.
How do I know if a tree is dying?
Several indicators can suggest a tree is in decline. These include the presence of large dead branches, bark that's peeling or falling off, visible cracks in the trunk, fungal growth near the tree's base, a noticeable lean, or sparse leaf growth during the growing season. If you observe any of these signs, it's advisable to consult with a professional arborist.
