- AWAlex Williams-BurkeJun 20, 20261.0My wife and I attended the store to see a bed we’d liked the look of online. Immediately we were beset upon by a salesman called Sion. Sion was clearly looking for a sale, but that’s understandable and I know that’s how this works. What I was against, however, were the pressure sales tactics, coupled with complete bare faced lies from Sion. He told us that the specific bed frame was no longer available, showing us this on his computer. He then tried to upsell us to a different bed frame costing around £140 more than the one we liked, and with a delivery time of 9-12 weeks. I noticed it said on his screen that the bed we wanted was “unavailable in Merthyr Tydfil”. It didn’t say anything about Bridgend though, which is obviously where we were. While sat there in front of him, I pulled up the Dreams website on my phone, which confirmed the frame was still available on there. He said something along the lines of “It may be on the website, but I bet you won’t be able to add it to your cart.” I did. It worked. He panicked, then suddenly changed tact to say online stock is different from what is available in store, etc. and we could always buy the frame online and the mattress from the store. After all of this, he tried to strong-arm us into paying £1,200 for a mattress, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. We eventually had to lie and tell him we were short on time due to childcare and he finally gave up. Honestly, abysmal service, way OTT and trying his best to clearly get whatever commission he’s on for making a sale. Wouldn’t go back here if you paid me. Oh and we were able to buy the bed frame we wanted on their website, for the price we wanted to pay for it, and it was delivered in under a week.
