The Macon Water Authority was formed in 1880 by an act of the Georgia General Assembly to serve as a public corporation. It provides municipal water and sewerage services for the city of Macon and Bibb County areas. Some of the departments of the Macon Water Authority are water distribution, sewerage conveyance, and laboratory and environmental compliance. In 2007, it was one of the six pilot communities to participate in a statewide educational program on outdoor water conservation. In 2009, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) conferred upon it, the honor of the Best Tasting Drinking Water in North America.
LNiesha Anderson & Shay Bateman were both amazing! They handled my situation very professionally & with the best customer service even though I was upset. Thanks for all the info ladies.

This company needs to be put under investigation. So much crooked fraudulent fees and disconnections after I’ve paid my bill. I’m sure people are paying these fees without question most of time, without noticing that they shouldn’t owe what MWA are saying they owe.

Just moved back to Macon, needed to setup account for my house. Poor business model. Have to setup accounts over the phone? And then give your ss# over the phone. The wait times are ridiculous and this company has made it extremely hard to get service setup. Was also told I am not an authorized user after my wife setup the account?!? I hope whoever is responsible for this poor excuse of a company sees this. I’ll be figuring out who I need to vote out and vote in to make sure someone cleans up this mess. Macon deserves better.
We are in 2025 it shouldn’t be this hard to setup a WATER account. Get your stuff so we can do all this stuff over the internet.

How is it that friends in Atlanta with larger houses pay less than I do by $10? Don't get me started on the ridiculous late fees.
