World Market is the only place like this around since Pier One closed. I went there to replace a wooden jewelry box that had broken and they had nothing similar anywhere on the floor. But lots of interesting things to shop for. Sadly, with Walmart being closed the parking lot was surprisingly empty which is sad for the people who own the store.

From researching other reviews, I’m noticing a pattern of other customers having an issue with the same disrespectful employee. I’m wondering why this issue isn’t being addressed because a negative review was left describing the same employee over a year ago. The store itself is okay, but an associate (an elderly man with a white beard) at the register was unnecessarily rude to my friend. She simply asked, “May I please have a bag,” and he rudely huffed as if it was an inconvenience. She asked if something was wrong, and he said she didn’t need a bag and doesn’t like to give them to customers who don’t need them when she bought a rug. It caught us off guard and shocked us for how snarky he was being. This was our first experience in this store, and with poor customer service like that, I will be choosing to shop elsewhere. Also, several of the Christmas ornaments were broken, which I could over look if it wasn’t paired with rude customer service.

I bought an adorable rug here. I asked for a bag for the rug. The clerk let out a loud sigh and gave me a disgusted look. When I asked if there was a problem with me getting a plastic bag for my purchase he said, “I don’t give bags unless it needs a bag and you don’t need a bag!” I told him he was incredibly rude and he said he didn’t care and I could leave. I won’t come back to this location. This is the clerk who was rude.

My first experience here was horrible. Not only is everything ridiculously overpriced, but the cashier was incredibly rude to my friend when she asked for a plastic bag for her rug. When she asked he scoffed at her and said “I don’t give bags unless it needs a bag and you don’t need a bag.” We said, “Sir that was extremely rude,” and he said, “I don’t care.” I’m never coming here again. Take your business somewhere that cares.

I came in to shop for gifts for a coworkers baby shower tonight around 7:15. I immediately had the only cashier on duty tail me all the way from their register located next to the entrance to a distant corner of the store where Dutch ovens and kitchenware are kept. When I arrived at check out, and greeted the same cashier their response was coated in dismal attitude. I understand that it is dark and cold outside, and sometimes we all have bad days, but the lack of care and fully ignoring my reasonable bagging requests are unacceptable. The cashier packed all of my items inside the gift bag I purchased. I nicely explained that the items were a gift for someone else an I would like to bag them separately. They only wrapped my ceramic mug after I requested it, even though a stack of brown paper bags were sitting on top of the register. I had to repeat myself two times in order to have the remaining non breakable gifts removed from the gift bag. In the end, I had to reach over the counter and get a bag to wrap up be paper gift bag myself. I’ve never seen or encountered this level of unprompted disrespect in any shopping experience I’ve ever had.
