I visited Hobby Lobby to purchase fleece with a particular university logo on it. I checked online to confirm the availability of the fleece at the store. Upon arrival, I was directed to the wall of college/university fleece but did not locate what I wanted. I spoke to the lady working in the material department and she confirmed that they did not have that particular fleece in stock. She mentioned that often what is noted as available in store is not and you would need to order it for delivery to your home. Ordinarily, I am usually pleased with my experiences at Hobby Lobby but this was quite disappointing, a waste of gas and time.

Amazed that two MANAGERS STOOD at the door while I stood in line while the cashier who may have been new or possibly just trying her best, struggling to ring up the guest in front of me. I stood with one item in my hand and both of them came to her register to assist her. But neither acknowledged me or expressed concern about the wait. Not only did I put my item down but because they were about to close. I had to be let out of the store. I expressed my disappointment to Lisa as she let me out. Still no apology, no Concern that I left my item at that register…… after waiting to be checked out!! Instead she expressed that they called for additional cashiers only after I shared that I walked out without my item, the only item I came for!!! Wow

This store has always been well organized, clean and with wonderful customer service. This evening (2/10/26 around 6 pm) was my first experience with an Hobby Lobby associate that did not prioritize treating customers with kindness, dignity and respect, hence the one star below average rating. I entered the store with only my phone and did not realize until after waiting in line and getting to check out with my items that the store does not have tap to pay. I passed my 4 small, handheld items to the cashier, and I went out to my vehicle to obtain my card to make my payment. When I returned to the store about 30 seconds later, I waited for the cashier to finish their transaction because now the line had grown even longer than my previous wait. The cashier told me that they did not ring up my items yet and I would have to reenter the line. This was after I already waited in line for quite a while, and the line had grown. This is just a basic level of customer service that was missing from this cashier’s training. Not that I am one to go around, trying to skip lines – I am quite the opposite – but when I waited in line already, reached the register and realized the store wasn’t able to accept the type of payment I had on hand, my natural expectation was to be able to return to that cashier and complete my transaction, without having to wait in line again. Is it a requirement for a cashier to do this, no, but this is just basic human consideration. I am sure others in line would have understood that I had already waited in line and would have responded with basic courtesy and not expected me to wait again. This was a disappointing experience given my long history with this store. Hopefully this is not a new trend in the hiring practices of this location and customer service will remain a priority for all new employees moving forward.

I spend so much time and money in this store. They have so many beautiful products. There should be some type of rewards program. The 40% discounts are great but even that adds up.
