- JKJosh KatoDec 19, 20251.0Rented 900 cubic feet of space, a 10x10x9 climate controlled unit. What I was assigned was clearly not that. It was closer to about 600 cubic feet of space in an L shape. I get it, mistakes happen. Because this was an online reservation, I called the number listed on the website. The person I spoke with, Bene, told me the owner would not reduce the rate for the unit, knows it is smaller, and sells it as a larger unit anyway. First off, I could not care less about the price and never asked for a reduction. I wanted the 900 cubic feet of space I agreed to. A mistake is one thing, but knowingly doing this and continuing it is fraud. Bene then tried to make it right by offering another unit, A89, located right beside the one I was assigned. When I opened that unit, it was already occupied by several items, which Bene knew were in there. Unfortunately, this was the only solution offered. When I explained that this was not acceptable and that I was not going to remove other people’s property to get the unit I agreed to and paid for, I was told the only option was a refund. At best, it feels like they wanted free labor to clear out a unit. At worst, they are hoping someone rents this space and does not question what they receive. Either way, it feels sketchy. Pictures included of the listed unit A87 and the receipt showing the unit size.
