Upon arrival, I noticed the staff was sitting outside, and when the assistant manager walked in, he proceeded to the desk. Initially, he was friendly, but his demeanor changed once I mentioned I wasn’t sure if I had an account. I requested a bag of deionized earth, and while he kindly retrieved it, he didn’t engage much afterward. I then picked up additional chemicals and asked if I was using them correctly, to which he responded with a brief "yea" At no point did he offer to check if I was in the system, add me to it, or provide any guidance on how to properly apply the chemicals I had purchased. Despite spending over $150 due to the convenience of the location, I left feeling that the service was lacking. I will reconsider returning to Leslie’s Pool in the future, as the experience felt more in line with that of a typical big-box store.

So much for taking the time to come in person -- amazing how many small business owners know nothing about Business101: tell your callers to wait while you successfully deal with the customer standing directly in front of you; afterall, which customer do you think has the greater potential to make a purchase? Moreover, he had at least one other sales associate standing around and, perhaps two (not sure if the third person was a friend or an employee).
