I’ve been renting a unit from ExtraSpace Storage for about three years. The original price was reasonable, but the rate has increased significantly. After the first major increase, I called to request a rate adjustment and was basically told nothing could be done — no real effort to help. Later, during another large increase, I spoke to an employee in person. I first asked if I could throw away one small item in the dumpster since I know customers typically can’t. He said yes, then immediately asked me to leave a Google review. I explained I couldn’t do that because I was frustrated about the pricing. At that point, he told me he would look into adjusting my rate and call me back. I never received any follow-up. I called again and was told someone would reach out — still nothing. These people know once you have your belongings here moving is not easy and they rely on that to raise your prices. I know rate adjustments are possible because my ExtraSpace location in North Carolina has adjusted my rate more than once without any issue and has always communicated clearly. This location has not shown the same fairness or customer service. I hope management improves transparency and actually follows through when they say they will.
