  My first Orlando storage need came during the post-pandemic era, when the world was still relearning how to treat each other with patience and care, and house hunting on a budget was tough. What I found instead was a level of customer service I didn’t expect — courtesy of Cynthia and Gio at the former Life Storage in Oviedo, FL. Their approach was what I call “white glove on a budget.” They didn’t just rent me a unit — they helped me solve a problem for both my home and my business. And in those days, that mattered. When Extra Space later merged, new policies, updated systems, and pricing shifts made things harder. Truthfully, the price increase pushed me just outside my budget, and I eventually had to move out. But here’s the key: Cynthia didn’t abandon the customer relationship just because I left the building. She sat me down, mapped out the smoothest exit strategy possible, and said: “This I promise you — if you ever need to come back, I’ll make sure you’re ready, because I know how you like to be!” Fast forward 3 years. Life happened, gear moved, and suddenly I needed storage again — this time in Winter Park. There I met Kris, the District Team Lead, whom I immediately informed why this was such a breeze for me. She casually mentioned that she and Cynthia had previously worked together at Public Storage and that Cynthia’s professional reputation precedes her. That told me everything I needed to know about Extra Space. When a DT Lead advocates for someone, it’s not favoritism — it’s recognition of talent. And Cynthia called it years ago with her “This I promise you” energy. I asked Kris on Thursday about upgrading to a 10x20 or 10x25, and she showed me options. I also let her know I needed to use the office bathroom because both the 3rd and 1st floor bathrooms were locked after hours. She simply said: “Just let Gwen know.” On Friday I met Gwen, who upgraded me and later that night saved my night crew by making sure the bathroom situation was handled. Shoutout to her for managing my “intenseNes” moment of: “This can’t happen tonight! Cause I will hear it from my crew!” with patience and a smile 😂 On my early Saturday visit, I met Kira, and in true circle-of-life fashion, she received both the apology and the thank-you message I originally intended for Gwen — and humbly accepted on her behalf. It reminded me of those early days with Gio and Cynthia, who I always saw advocating for customers with little touches (like Gio’s vanilla plug-ins 😅) and making renters feel like humans, not transactions. I’m glad Extra Space has moved in the direction Cynthia “promised,” because for renters like us who care about our gear and our experience, customer retention, operational awareness, and leadership development actually matter. Customer loyalty didn’t make me write this review — the Cynthia + Gio synergy did. Because that’s a team that kept it human & 💯‼️ Highly recommend the Winter Park and Oviedo locations. — Nes

  I like the option of having a cylinder lock for better security. Staff is friendly. Infestation of roaches and spiders is on the rise as the place fills up. Need a better extermination plan. Mostly dead bugs but the roaches are active! I haven't seen any other bugs or rodents thankfully.

  Mark here at extra storage and other staff was very helpful. Definitely took the time and explain everything and also helped during the move. Definitely recommend this to people.
