I am very disappointed in this company’s customer service and professionalism. A few months ago, I asked that my service day be changed from Monday because their technicians kept parking in front of my trash and recycling bins. Instead of a helpful response, I received a rude and dismissive email from Steve, who said they couldn’t guarantee a specific day. When I spoke with Ben, the owner, he was apologetic and professional and assured me they would accommodate the change. Steve later apologized by email, promising they would avoid Mondays and not block the bins, so I thought the issue was resolved.
Shortly after that exchange, I noticed a sudden decline in the quality of my lawn service, which seemed coincidental given the timing. The owner personally came out to treat the lawn, which I appreciated, but it never fully recovered. I let it go since fall was approaching.
Then, today—again on a Monday—the technician parked in front of my bins while the garbage truck was nearby. I asked him to move so they could be accessed. When I called the company, I was transferred to a rude representative who turned out to be Steve again. When I reminded him of our previous interaction, he defensively said, “I sent you an email,” and repeated that they can’t guarantee a service day. When I told him I’d need to cancel my service, he sarcastically said, “Excellent,” falsely accused me of cursing at the technician (which I absolutely did not), and then abruptly hung up on me.
I later spoke with Bill, the owner, who was once again polite and professional and apologized for Steve’s conduct. However, the pattern of unprofessional behavior continues to be tolerated. To make matters worse, I then received another email from Steve stating, “Per your request, I have canceled all services as of today. You have a zero balance on the account. I understand you have already spoken to the president of our company.” While the wording may appear polite, it was inappropriate for Steve—the same employee at the center of the issue—to contact me again. His tone came across as dismissive and condescending, as if to imply that speaking to the president hadn’t made any difference. Not to mention the only reason I contacted the president was because Steve accused me of something I did not do & then hung up on me.
I caution others to use their service due to the unprofessional handling of my simple request and the repeated lack of respect shown to a long-time customer.
