Their favorite phrase is "this is not typical" "this is not standard" for the experiences we've had with this company.
Issues began in June -July 2025 when pool went green in spite of paying this company for weekly maintenance. They claimed they had an issue with a technician and a new office was taking over the route. It took 3-4 weeks to address the issue - going from cloudy back to green to cloudy again. In the meantime, the technician set the pump to run continuously for several days to help address the issues.
The pool finally got cleaned up mid July, but in October I contacted TECO because in spite of putting in a new AC unit, a new sliding glass door and a new clothes dryer, my power bill was still very high. The auditor came out on 10/31/25.
Earlier that day, the Pool Trooper supervisor, Danny, had been by to change the O ring on the pump (I saw him and spoke with him as I work from home). When the TECO auditor and I went to observe the pool pump, we noticed the pump leaking profusely. I called Danny, who advised me to turn it off over the weekend and he would address it the following Monday 11/3/2025. When he came back out, I asked him about the pool pump timer, which he checked and confirmed was still running 24 hours a day. He adjusted it down to run 6-7 hours per day. I decided to cancel the service after that, considering between the pool going green, the pump running continuously for several months, and the o-ring pump leak, the company practices cost me much more than what I was paying them to maintain my pool monthly.
Kyle, the regional manager, offered me 2 free months when we spoke about these issues on 11/24/2025 but I declined, afraid I would only continue to have to babysit them. In spite of canceling the service, they took me off their route but withdrew my monthly payment for December, and although I''ve made 3 requests for a refund, I am still waiting. I also asked for compensation, having provided them proof of the increased consumption, but in spite of what Danny said when he stood in front of me and looked at the pool pump, both he and Kyle changed their stories during our later conversations, stating there's no way my pump will run constantly for over 24 hours and it reverts to the standard timer after one day. After I retraced the steps with him in detail and reminded him that we were fighting the algae for weeks, he acknowledged that he deals with hundreds of pools in a month may have recalled incorrectly. Kyle, the regional manager, who has never been to my home stated very confidently over the phone what Danny had done, and why they were not responsible for the increased electric bills. In any case, I am done.
If you dont want to babysit your pool company, don't hire Pool Troopers.

I am very disappointed in the service I’ve received. I recently had my pool re-marcited, and Pool Troopers agreed to brush the pool three days a week. I was told on Thursday that another technician would be coming out to brush and balance the pool.
No one showed up on Friday. I called at 2:00 p.m. and was told someone was on the way. I called again at 4:45 p.m., right before closing, only to be told that no one would be coming after all.
This level of service is unacceptable, and I am extremely disappointed with Pool Troopers.
