  giving one star because I’ve received one star service the entire time I’ve had a storage unit here, and that didn’t change when I called Extra Sace today. I’m unafraid to say that times are a bit tough right now and my dollars don’t stretch very far these days, so when I called and asked Jay at this location to please waive a late fee so I could cover my entire balance and make a payment, he couldn’t be bothered, because this store waived one for me inside of the last 12 months. so because I can’t cover the entire balance at this moment without ONE late fee being waived, and my next payment being due in two days, I’m going to incur yet another late fee that Jay will not waive as a courtesy to a client who’s had a storage unit here for since the pre-COVID days. cool. so if you can help it, instead of going to Extra Space, go see Dan and Debbie at CubeSmart on Gandy for your storage unit needs. I have a storage unit there and I’ve gotten nothing but five star service there, unlike what I got with Jay and the team members at this store in the past.

  Overall, this was a great storage facility. Good lighting, security and functional resources like carts (always plenty to roll stuff in an out) and elevators that always worked. There were also cameras so I never felt worried about accessing my unit alone at odd hours. The climate control was great and my things showed no weathering over the almost ten years they were stored there.

  Clean, quiet, and well kept. Affordable prices and easy access to customer service was easily accessible by phone or texts as well.

  I am always wary of storage places so I came into this looking for the worst. However, we are moving to a small apartment and needed a place to store some important items we aren't ready to downsize yet. With that in mind, I found Extra Space Storage online and gravitated to it because it is the closest storage unit to my new home. I did everything online and it was a breeze...the price was fair and the set up took only a few minutes. We wanted our rental to start the very next day and that was no problem either. When we showed up the first time, we were met by a super nice gentleman who welcomed us, helped me set up the app to gain remote access to the front doors, and gave us a quick class on how everything worked. They had free carts and a huge elevator for our use. The unit was clean, the lock they provided worked well, and my wife and I were able to completely empty our car and load our unit in just a single trip. I walked away in just a few minutes marveling at how easy everything was. We went back this morning to drop off another load and we were in and out again in under ten minutes...love this place. I realize it is a pretty simple business, but they have everything laid out well and if you need customer service they have that too! Highly recommend if the location is convenient for you like it is for us.

  I recently tried to rent from here after seeing all the great reviews and I deeply regret it. Jay Levy was extremely disrespectful and rude to me over the phone to the point that it made me anxious. No one should ever have to deal with that. I simply want my refund and to stop all communication with someone who makes me feel uncomfortable. I asked him to send me a release form for the lock of my unit authorizing them to access it. I no longer had the key and I was not interested in renting it for the reasons below. I went to the office to do so during the timeframe they specified, and he was apparently at lunch. There were several issues: 1) Challenging to get in touch with the store manager 2) The unit was filthy and I had to sweep and mop it 3) There was someone in the unit who was apparently staying there even though the facility says he was not (inflatable mattress, tv and cable hooked up). Whether or not he was, when I brought this up to the manager, he laughed.
