Marti, in particular, deserves special mention. She’s always sincere, professional, and genuinely empathetic when these problems arise. Marti even went above and beyond by reaching out to us immediately when a ground-floor unit became available so we could move and avoid the elevator situation altogether. That level of care and follow-through is rare and greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, Extra Space Storage corporate deserves negative stars for allowing the elevator issues to persist for years with no lasting repairs. It’s common for one elevator to be out of service for weeks at a time — and at times both have been down entirely, making upper-floor units nearly inaccessible. Despite repeated reports and obvious inconvenience to long-term tenants, corporate has made no meaningful investment in fixing or replacing the equipment. The on-site team continues to handle these challenges with grace, but corporate needs to take responsibility, prioritize maintenance, and finally invest in permanent facility improvements instead of repeatedly raising fees without results.
