The manager, Andrew, was communicative and detail oriented which made the entire process seamless. The space was VERY clean and organized. It is also conveniently located right by I-75 for all of your moving/travel needs. I would highly recommend this location to everyone!

- EKErik K.Jan 19, 20262.0RENTER BEWARE I rented a 10×20 unit at the Extra Space Storage location on Anise Drive in Sarasota for over a year. While the facility itself is clean and access was reliable, my experience with their pricing practices was deeply concerning. After an initial promotional period, my monthly rent increased dramatically in large step changes — nearly TRIPLED within about 16 months — without any change in service, maintenance, or amenities. The increases did not feel tied to normal market conditions or inflation, but rather to an opaque, automated repricing process. What made this particularly frustrating is that self-storage is not easy to “shop around” once you’re already moved in. Relocating a fully loaded 10×20 unit requires trucks, movers, time, and significant expense, which effectively limits your ability to leave when prices jump. In my view, Extra Space appears to rely on algorithmic pricing that favors new customers while penalizing longer-term tenants who are less likely to move. There was also very little transparency at move-in about how quickly or how much rates could increase over time. Bottom line: if you rent here, assume your rate will not stay stable and budget accordingly. Ask very direct questions about future price increases before signing, and keep copies of everything. If you value predictable pricing or loyalty treatment, this may not be the right facility for you.
