They showed up on time and kept things clean and neat as they worked through cleaning my fireplace for a new log set. I am happy with my new log set and its operation. They also repaired external cracks on our chimney

My name is Ed Scott..I have a two story home with a river stone chimney. I hired chimney cricket to demo the top 25 feet and rebuild it,,,Our best guess it got hit by lightning, This since they never took one. since they took none. was a two week job. The mason was Jake and his helper was Fernando. I am sure John the owner realizes how lucky he is to have such outstanding employees . These gentlemen worked in 100 degree heat and possibly never heard of a break since they took none. Their knowledge and respect they both showed me was humbling. Thank you Jake and Fernando...It was a pleasure meeting you both.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience with Cricket Chimney! From start to finish, their professionalism and attention to detail were top-notch. Technicians Branden and Aaron truly went above and beyond—arriving on time, thoroughly explaining the work that needed to be done, and completing everything with precision and care.
You can tell they take pride in their craft. They left everything spotless, and the chimney now looks better than ever. I felt confident and informed throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find a team this knowledgeable, respectful, and efficient.
Highly recommend Cricket Chimney—especially Branden and Aaron—for anyone looking for quality, trustworthy chimney service. They’ve earned my business for life!
How often should I have my chimney cleaned in Florida?
We recommend having your chimney inspected and swept at least once a year, even if you don’t use it often. In humid areas like Sarasota, Venice, and Bradenton, moisture, nesting animals, and salt air can cause corrosion and blockages that pose fire and safety hazards.
What are the signs that my chimney needs repair or maintenance?
Common warning signs include:
Crumbling mortar or bricks
Rust or staining around the chimney cap or crown
Smoke backing up into your home
A musty or damp odor near the fireplace
Missing or damaged chimney cap
If you notice any of these, call for an inspection before using your fireplace again.
Why is a chimney cap important in Florida homes?
A chimney cap prevents rain, debris, birds, and small animals from entering your flue. It also stops sparks from escaping and damaging your roof. In our coastal climate, a stainless-steel cap is especially important because it resists corrosion from salt air and moisture.
Do you offer inspections or just cleaning services?
We provide comprehensive Level 1 and Level 2 chimney inspections along with sweeping, cap replacement, masonry repair, waterproofing, and flashing work. Our technicians check every part of your chimney to ensure it’s structurally sound and safe to use.
How long does a chimney sweep take?
A standard chimney sweep in Sarasota or Bradenton typically takes about one to two hours, depending on buildup and accessibility. Our team keeps your home clean by using drop cloths, HEPA vacuums, and dust control equipment.
Can chimney issues cause roof leaks or water damage?
Yes — cracks in the crown, missing flashing, or damaged mortar joints can allow rain to leak into your attic or walls. Our technicians specialize in chimney waterproofing and leak repair to protect your roof and interior from costly water damage.
Do Florida homes really need chimney cleaning if they’re rarely used?
Absolutely. Even unused chimneys can collect debris, moisture, and animal nests, which block airflow and create fire risks. Annual inspections ensure your system stays safe and your structure remains protected from water intrusion.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — our team is fully licensed, insured, and certified for chimney sweeping, repair, and inspection in the state of Florida. We follow all local building codes and safety standards to give you peace of mind.
What areas do you serve?
We proudly service homes throughout Sarasota, Venice, Bradenton, Osprey, Nokomis, and Lakewood Ranch, ensuring prompt response times and dependable, local service.
