I called Aloha to gather information about a leaking sacrificial anode replacement on my pool heater. James told me he had the part - and would be able to replace it the next day. Just what I wanted to hear! They were prompt in showing up and replaced the part. Asked if I had any other questions about my system - and seemed ready to help. GREAT customer service!

Extremely happy with Aloha Pool Service. We had another company come out who said they fixed our pool issue but did not. Aloha was amazing and fixed it and then came back multiple times just to make sure. Any pool issue make sure to call Aloha first!

I was having a problem with my pool heater and called James to get it working again for Thanksgiving since we have family coming into town. He sent his tech out to diagnose the problem and he had it figured out quickly and had the unit back in working order and explained what the issue was. Aloha installed our equipment a couple of years ago and we’ve been very pleased with the performance of it. It’s nice to have a company we can rely on to take care of our system when we need it.

Owner James and his team are first rate. The estimate for the new pool heat pump was excellent and the personal service and attention to detail were outstanding. Communications were exceptional and the crew removed all the old equipment and cleaned up perfectly. It’s refreshing to find a high-quality business owner that respects your job like it was his own. Highly recommend !
Frequently Asked Questions About Aloha Pool Service
How long does it take to heat the pool with an electric heater?
The heating time for an electric heater varies based on the pool's size and initial water temperature. Generally, electric heaters require more time to warm the water compared to gas-powered alternatives.
How fast can a gas heater warm up my pool?
Gas heaters are known for their rapid heating capabilities, often raising water temperature significantly within a matter of hours. This makes them particularly suitable for pools that are used intermittently.
What is the average lifespan of a gas pool heater?
With regular and proper maintenance, gas pool heaters typically last between five to seven years before requiring replacement.
Do I need a gas line installed for this heater?
Natural gas heaters do require a gas line installation. If natural gas is not available in your area, propane can serve as a viable alternative fuel source.
Which is more cost-effective: natural gas or propane?
Natural gas is typically the more economical option if a gas line is already present. While propane offers convenience in areas without natural gas access, it often comes with a higher cost per BTU.
How often do propane tanks need refilling?
The refill frequency for propane tanks depends on your pool's size and usage patterns. Under heavy use conditions, you may need to refill the tank every few weeks.
Can I convert from propane to natural gas later?
Many heaters are designed to allow conversion between propane and natural gas. However, this process requires professional service to ensure safety and proper functioning.
How does a heat pump work in cooler weather?
Heat pumps perform optimally in warm climates like Florida. When temperatures drop below 50F, these units may require more time to heat the pool water effectively.
Is a heat pump more energy-efficient than a gas heater?
Heat pumps are indeed more energy-efficient than gas heaters, resulting in lower long-term operational costs. However, they do heat the water at a slower rate compared to gas heaters.
What maintenance does a heat pump require?
To maintain optimal efficiency, heat pumps require regular cleaning of their coils and annual professional inspections. These maintenance practices help ensure the longevity and performance of your unit.
