BEWARE of LOWE’S: Terrible experience with Lowe’s. Lowe’s sold me a washer and then, arranged installation through their third-party installer. The previous unit worked fine, but after the install, when the laundry was done in the newly installed washer, water flooded into the neighboring condo.
Lowe’s refused to send their installer back to resolve the leak because their crews had left for the day . They suggested I contact a licensed plumber to get the leak stopped and to diagnose the issue. Lowe’s assured me if it was installed improperly, they would submit a claim.
The plumber confirmed, in writing and on video, the installer failed to connect the drain hose, causing the leak. We paid $200 out of pocket to fix the installer’s mistake. Despite clear evidence, Lowe’s delayed, passed us around, and even closed the claim without notifying me.
Both condos have wet drywall, wet insulation, and wet baseboards, and the neighbor’s kitchen cabinets are damaged. Lowe’s refusal to act quickly has only made the water damage worse and now there is a mold issue.
Extremely disappointed in Lowe’s lack of accountability for the faulty installation by their contractor. Their ongoing delays increased the damages suffered. This should never have happened.
