- ARAlex RussellFeb 11, 20261.0Severe Security Breach and Negligence — Avoid This Facility I am a long-term customer currently living out of state and I am appalled by the lack of security at this Pompano Beach location. My unit was breached and my heavy-duty lock was removed. The manager, Donnell, sent me photos showing my property was tampered with and electronics boxes were ripped open. When I called for an explanation, the manager admitted on record that building security is compromised. He stated that doors can be left ajar and there are many ways to gain access without a code. Despite these security failures, he flatly refused to perform an inventory check to help me identify stolen items for my police report. Extra Space Storage claims to offer peace of mind and top-tier security. In reality, they allowed my unit to sit unsecured for days and are now obstructing my attempt to document my losses. Other reviewers have noted the gates are left wide open at night. This is not a secure facility. It is a playground for thieves. I have filed a report with the Broward Sheriff’s Office and will be pursuing full legal action for gross negligence.
