Store Manager Frank is the Wizard behind the curtain.
After a recent visit left me wandering without confidence, like Toto on a road with no Dorothy, I asked to speak with a manager. Enter Frank, calm and composed, the kind of presence that makes you think you might finally be on the right path.
He listened ... truly listened ... as if every detail mattered. With a few taps and clicks, he pulled up records, studying them like a map through unfamiliar territory. Then, without much fanfare, he slipped away to the backroom … a place that might as well have been Oz itself.
When he returned, he explained that everything appeared to be in line with store policy and asked for a few more days for the refund to find its way home. It was a reasonable answer, even if it didn’t feel like magic just yet. I told him I’d be patient; but made it clear that if things didn’t resolve within a week, I’d be following the road all the way to corporate.
He also acknowledged where things went off course; mentioning that his associates would need a reminder on proper pricing to prevent the kind of confusion and frustration I experienced from happening to other customers. That kind of accountability doesn’t always show up, and it mattered.
Still, because he treated me with care and respect, I chose to stay and shop a bit: an act of good faith for someone who hadn’t dismissed me.
And then ... like a little bit of Oz working behind the scenes ...bless than 24 hours later, the refund appeared.
No smoke, no booming voice, no grand reveal. Just results.
Maybe it was already in motion. Maybe Frank pulled a lever or two behind that curtain. Either way, he delivered when it mattered; and made sure the path would be clearer for the next traveler, too.
Turns out, sometimes the wizard doesn’t need the spectacle, just the follow-through.
Great save.

Absolutely outstanding performance at this Lowe’s ... if the goal is to turn a simple errand into a full-blown obstacle course.
The cashier somehow overcharged me by more than $30, which takes a special level of inattention. When I pointed it out, I was asked why I didn’t tell him the correct prices before paying. Right, because memorizing store prices and supervising the register is apparently part of the customer’s job description now. Piloting a variation of self-checkout?
Fixing it at the register? Of course not. That would make too much sense. Instead, I was sent to Customer Service to continue the adventure.
That’s where things really got interesting. I was offered a “solution” where I’d get a refund, but it wouldn’t actually reflect what I purchased. Nothing builds customer confidence quite like being asked to agree to a transaction that doesn’t match reality. Who does that? Truly cutting-edge retail practices.
Since I prefer my receipts to exist in the same universe as my purchases, I declined and asked for everything to be refunded and rung up again. Because obviously, the best way to fix one mistake is to redo the entire transaction from scratch, on a packed Saturday afternoon.
Management might want to consider staffing experienced associates during peak hours, unless the current strategy is to let chaos handle customer service. Either way, if you’re looking to spend way more time than necessary correcting basic errors, this is definitely the place.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
