- CSC. SchmidtJan 2, 20261.0We cannot overstate the frustration and hardship this company has caused us. During the week of October 13, Guardian technicians arrived onsite while our gates were intentionally left open due to a known battery failure. While onsite, Guardian completed a call box repair and then closed the gates without performing any testing. Had even basic testing been conducted, it would have been immediately clear that the batteries were dead—this being the very reason the gates had been left open. Had the technicians left the gates as they found them, or contacted HOA management before closing them, they would have been instructed to keep the gates open. At no time did our correspondence authorize Guardian to close the gates. Standard and reasonable protocol requires verifying gate functionality, including backup power operation, prior to placing the system back into service. This was not done. The gates were closed without confirming backup power capability and without notifying anyone. The following day, a power outage occurred, directly resulting in significant damage to the gate. Seven metal pickets broke off, rendering the gate inoperable until welding repairs could be made. This damage was entirely preventable. Despite this, Guardian is now attempting to charge us approximately $3,000 to repair damage resulting from their own actions. This situation reflects a serious failure in communication, adherence to protocol, and accountability. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend avoiding this company.
