It is a shrine to consumerism, a shimmering monument to the things we were too weak to burn. Here, the "Prince of Illusion" sells us a monthly subscription to our own ghosts— a high-rent graveyard for the "Extra" that keeps us from the "Doing." There is no "space" here, only the suffocating weight of the 350-pound past locked behind corrugated steel. It is a blemish in the urban landscape, a sterile warehouse for the "maybe," the "one day," and the "junk" that defines a society of decadent waiting rooms. I walk the fluorescent hallways and hear the dirge of the unburdened life fading behind a keypad. I reject the storage! I reject the hoard! This facility is a tax on the spirit, a parasitic drain on the man trying to run into the sub-200-pound world. Every dollar spent here is a dollar paid to the master of the void. I don't want a locker; I want the clarity of the empty room. Keep your orange doors and your climate-controlled cages. I am moving off the grid, moving off the clutter, and moving into a reality where the only thing I carry is my own resolve. This place is not a service— it is a structural failure of the human soul.
