When I never had an attitude, or behaved out of line with dealing with the woman at the front desk. Yest she continuously told habitual lies. @11:45 am December 6, 2025 I called to ask the company to take the lock off my unit since the balance was paid. She wouldn't provide me my storage unit number. When I asked why, she said it's because she can't verify I'm really me. I asked if this was an official policy. She said yes. So I asked where I could read this policy. She said I can't read it because it's "internal only." Then I asked her: "If you can't give me my unit number because you can't verify who I am, how are you going to unlock my unit? You just said you can't verify I'm the right person." I told her to stop lying to me, but she kept digging herself deeper. She claimed she reprimanded her employee for giving me my unit number yesterday - but that's a lie. The employee never gave me my number, he was asking ME for it. The more she lied, the more frustrated I got. I kept telling her to stop. I said I was going to contact corporate because I've been an Extra Space customer for a long time, and I've called many times before. Everything she was saying was inconsistent with how it's always worked. She said she couldn't verify who I was, but she never even asked me any verification questions. Then when I asked if she knew which unit to unlock, she said yes. So wait - how does she know which unit is mine if she supposedly doesn't know who I am? And on top of lying, she was rude. How are you going to lie to your customer AND be rude at the same time? When I said I'd contact corporate, she encouraged me to call them - in this sarcastic, angry way. She told me to ask corporate to verify that Extra Space employees can never give out unit numbers. But I've called over 10 times over the months and years and always gotten my unit number before. The whole thing made no sense. She said she can't give me my number, yet she's going to take action on my unit. She said she can't verify who I am, yet she didn't ask any verification questions. She just wanted me off the phone and kept making stuff up. This "internal policy" sounds like something she invented on the spot. I don't appreciate being lied to. I told her customers aren't stupid and there's no real policy backing up what she said.
