Life Storage or Extra Space Storage took over a Burlington storage facility that I was had been renting from for 2 years and over the course of a year raised the cost of the locker to nearly double the initial price. When I called to inquire about their pricing policy, they were very upfront about how wild and unpredictable these raises in the value of the space you’ve rented can be. All whilst the unrented spaces in the same facility will remain at the same introductory rate year after year. Rather than being an honest company that strives to provide a decent service for an agreed upon price, it is painfully obvious that they take full advantage of the inconvenience of moving your belongings to extract as much money from their customers as possible before inevitably forcing them to move to another storage facility. I moved to a locally owned facility who guaranteed my rates wouldn't change. However, It seems Extra Space is doing their best to buy up every other storage facility, so you no longer have a choice.
