  If I could give them zero stars I would! I want to start this review with that in the 22 years I've been in Florida I have owned at least 5-6 other recliners & NEVER had any issues with them. NEVER! The difference you ask... I didn't buy them from LazyBoy! We purchased 2 recliners in September, the Vail manual rocking recliner & the Liam manual rocking recliner. When they were delivered I noticed how loud the internal reclining mechanisms were. When I say they're loud... they are LOUD! We live in an apartment & when I'm on the balcony, with the doors & windows closed, I can hear when they open, recline & close! I called the service department to schedule an appointment to have someone come look at them. Trying to schedule that appointment was a NIGHTMARE! From having to wait 2 weeks for an appointment to them sending the repair guy to the wrong address which pushed our appointment out another 5 days! In trying to get the appointment scheduled & then trying to reach the service department again to let them know they had the wrong address (I got a text confirming my appointment with the wrong address) I had to keep leaving messages because they (Shannon & Louis) don't like to answer the phone or return calls. I ended up speaking to the owner/manager, Bryan Greiger, who jokingly said he knew how loud the mechanism was & that he's been joking about it for years. I can't say I find it funny. I told him we live in an apartment & I'm concerned about the people below us hearing every time we open & close the recliners. I can't remember his exact words but he said something like them not being great in an apartment without carpet. We don't have carpet!! He agreed to send his repair person out saying "you're not going to like what he has to say because there's nothing that can be done. They are loud" When I told him they weren't this loud in the store he said it's because the store is carpeted & the recliners are close to each other to reduce/absorb sound. Im sorry but that's very misleading!! The other issue is that my boyfriend's recliner came with a dent in the material, in the seat area, that's still there. As far as both recliners are concerned they are cheaply made, make VERY loud creaking noises all the time ~ they literally sound like they're going to fall apart. They're also VERY hard to open & close ~ I feel like I'm going to break the arm off. I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH how hard it is to open & close both of them and that when closing them, the leg rests literally SLAM close with the loudest sound! I don't care what they say, that is NOT normal! Something to note before buying from them, they're not corporate owned so if there is an issue you won't have any recourse with a corporate office. Do yourself a favor & shop anywhere else because the quality is as crappy as their customer service!

  My husband and I had the pleasure of doing business with Sonya at Lazy boy store in New Port Richey last week. We were planning on going to several stores to look for a recliner couch and loveseat. I' m one of those who has to see everything before deciding! We sat in many recliner couches considering price, comfort, style and fabrics. Sonya pointed out the dimensions of the furniture in relation to where our neck and head rested, where the knee bent and ankles rested. She also pointed out Lazy Boy features vs other brands. We learned a lot. We kept all this information in mind as we went around testing the furniture for comfort. Our experience was very positive and settled on the "James" recliner and loveseat collection. We bought the power recliners with power lumber and headrest. I surprised myself by being able to find the perfect match for us in the first store we visited. Can't wait for delivery. Thank you Sonya. Marian and Keith
