Stan, Addison, Ana, and Adelina were the worst. This evening solidified that we will no longer shop at this Lowe’s ever again—unfortunately. Possibly at any Lowe’s after this interaction and complete lack of customer service.
The first issue was a plant my mother and I had seen multiple times over the span of a week while shopping at this Lowe’s. It was clearly dying, not cared for at all, yet still priced at $24.98. As plant lovers, it’s hard to see and honestly upsetting, but that’s beside the point. I went to customer service because I have previously purchased better-looking plants from their clearance section for half off or less, and I wanted to see what could be done for a dying or dead plant.
Adelina was the first person I interacted with, and she was not pleasant at all. She had a very “what do you want me to do?” attitude, which led me to ask for a manager. She called Stan, and it was very obvious he did not want to work. He even asked me if I thought I could bring the plant back to life. I told him I could try—and wanted to—because they were not watering it. I believe my confidence is why he marked it down to $15. Keep in mind, I’ve purchased better-looking plants for less, but again, that’s beside the point.
I told him I wanted to check with my mom to see if it was worth it, since we know that if we purchase a discounted plant and it dies, we cannot return it for full price. I came back and said we would take it but were still shopping and asked if he could tag it. Stan said, “I’m still here until close.” Cool.
When we returned to customer service, Adelina was no longer there. Instead, we were met with Addison, who was rude as well. At that point, energy was matched. She and Stan were talking, but with perfect timing, he walked away. She then asked how she could help us. My mom said we were checking out, and before Addison could finish saying we needed to go to self-checkout instead of checking out with her, I intervened and explained that the gentleman (Stan) had agreed to mark down the dead plant.
She called him back, and while we waited, she said she would check out the rest of our items. When he finally showed up, the gentleman we usually check out with in the garden area appeared, and then Ana walked up about a Coco Sheet Liner—but that’s another issue. By this point, I was annoyed and took my items to self-checkout.
As I walked back to look at something, I overheard Ana, Addison, and Adelina discussing the Coco Liner and questioning why we would buy it if it “looks like that.” Because we have the money and we can.
It’s fine, though. They can look up my mother’s number and see how much money we’ve spent this year alone. Ultimately, they helped us—because we will no longer be spending our money there.
Just rude and sucky attitudes for no reason. Oh just side note: Addison rude and talking bad with the same girls that most likely haven't told you something was in your hair.
