We're offering safe Alterations services for your convenience. During your in-store Alterations appointment, you can expect a safe environment where a mask is provided to you. Alterations employees will also be staying safe in both a mask and gloves. We'll take precautions such as increased sanitization in fitting rooms. If you had alterations being completed before our store closures and your completed garments are ready for pickup, we'll reach out to coordinate complimentary shipping of items directly to you. If safe Contactless Curbside Pickup is available at your store, you can choose to pick up completed garments via this method or have them shipped to you.

- NMNicole MorleySep 24, 20251.0Really disappointed in my tailoring experience at Nordstrom WestFarms. I was the maid of honor for my best friend and took my dress to get tailored here because it’s close to where I live and it was easy to make an appointment online. The one star I am giving is for the lovely sales associate Dom who helped me pick up my dress on time (5 stars for Dom), but I would give 0 stars to my seamstress. She arrived 15 minutes late without any kind of polite apology, and when I asked her to take the top of the strapless dress in, she just straight up told me no. I went back and forth with her probably 6 or 7 times, insisting that I wanted the top to be tight so that I wouldn’t need to be adjusting it throughout the wedding. She continued to tell me no, it didn’t need it, it fit me fine, tighter isn’t better, it will dig into my skin, etc, etc. I was polite but firm, I told her I understood but that I had the same alteration done to my wedding dress and it was exactly what I wanted, and that I wanted the dress to feel secure more than anything else. She did put pins into the back, but continued to argue with me against taking in the top. I left the appointment feeling frustrated and unsure if she would do what I had asked. After picking up the dress, I tried it on and the top was exactly the same. She had not made any alterations to the top, only hemmed the dress. I was super annoyed, but it was too late to take it elsewhere to have it fixed and I ended up wearing the dress as it was. Let me be clear: the top of the dress looked fine to the naked eye. I ordered one size up to fit my hips, and the bust was probably a half size too big. I personally prefer for strapless dresses to be very form fitting around the bust to avoid having to constantly be pulling up the top and adjusting. Unfortunately, because the alterations I requested were not made, that is exactly what I was doing for 8 hours straight. Because the bust was slightly loose, I was pulling it up and adjusting myself literally every 5 minutes. Before and during photos, before walking down the aisle, during cocktail hour, before my speech, and during dancing. I literally had to hold the top up while jumping around on the dance floor because the top would just slowly slip farther and farther down. It was a nightmare, and needless to say I was so disappointed with my alterations at Nordstrom. I literally paid $120 for a hem. Save your money and go to a small business like I should have for tailoring.

The lady was extremely conservative and refused the alterations because she thought the dress was too revealing overall. The next place we took it to said it was an easy fix and would do it without issue. This was very highly unprofessional and reflects terribly on Nordstrom’s brand.

Donna was very patient and thorough in pinning up all of the garments and ensuring proper fit. I also didn't realize that Nordstrom's alterations department offers to ship the items back to you for free- this was a huge bonus for me, as I live out of state. I paid under $200 for all of the alterations and ironing plus shipping, which I thought was a great deal. Can't recommend Nordstrom tailoring enough!

It was an avoidable waste of time, money, and gas. Something that should've been stated online when you schedule so stuff like this doesn't happen. They were very unhelpful and the experience was taxing.
